In readiness for our move to Colindale and modern ways of working, we are planning to roll out a fleet of pool cars to enable staff to easily travel across the borough to deliver services.
We have invited a selected number of colleagues in Adults and Communities and Family Services to participate in our proof of concept scheme (pilot) with promising feedback so far. The data we’ve collected so far has shown a steady increase in bookings with more staff starting to use Pool Cars consistently for business-related journeys.
Simon Fielder, an Assessment and Enablement Officer in the Urgent Response Team has said: “I use the pool car several times per week. It’s really good as it gives me the flexibility to conduct my visits in a car which is far more effective than travelling by bus. I also don’t have to make expense claims as this is done automatically.”
As well as increasing productivity, this sustainable transport initiative will benefit the environment. The procurement process for 20 vehicles will start at the end of May with the launch scheduled for November 2018.
