Email encryption involves encrypting, or disguising, the content of email messages in order to protect potentially sensitive information from being read by anyone other than intended recipients.
Thanks to your feedback, we’ve made some changes to improve the Encrypt and Send solution in Outlook.
A number of your colleagues have been testing the new solution and have reported that it is a much better experience for them and for their recipients.
When will the change occur? Changes will take place on the evening of Thursday 6 December.
What will change for you? This will not affect the way you send Encrypt and Send emails, please continue to use the Encrypt & Send button.
What will change for recipients? Recipients will need to follow the user guide, please pass on a copy to external recipients that you send encrypted emails, this will guide them through how to access the encrypted emails that you have sent them if they need assistance.
Need a refresher on what is considered sensitive information? Go to the Information Management Policy page for further information (LBB staff).
