There are thirteen permit bays in Plot 9a for blue badge holders / staff with restricted mobility. Another five disabled bays on the curtilage of the building can be found along Valentina Avenue (three are located to the side of the reception and two at the end of the loading bay at the north east side of the building). One of the bays on Valentina Avenue is assigned to a staff member for sole use and it is the bay marked in pink. All the other green marked bays are available.
In addition, following parking regulations, any blue badge holders will be able to park free of charge in certain Controlled Parking Zone (CPZ) spaces in and around the area. The following map shows the location of these alternative spaces.
Access to staff spaces will need to be assessed through a manager referral to occupational health as per the current arrangements.
Steps to register for disabled parking
The disabled spaces adjacent to the office on Valentina Avenue are enforced by a private enforcement company, in order to ensure that they are available for disabled council staff. A permit issued by Customer Services is therefore required to be displayed, in addition to a blue badge, when parking in these spaces. Spaces are then available for all disabled permit holders on a first come, first served basis so, unfortunately, availability still cannot be guaranteed. The process to register for a permit is below:
• Staff should email Karen.Lewis@capita.com in Customer Services requesting a Disabled Parking Permit
• Evidence required from staff in the email request:
o Name and contact details (telephone number and email)
o Department
o Manager’s name and contact details (telephone number and email)
o Copy of Blue Badge
o Employee pass number
o Car registration number
o Car Make
o Car Model
• Your request will be reviewed by the Customer Services team
• You will receive an email from the Customer Services team to arrange for you to collect the parking permit from Colindale office reception.
The address for Valentina Avenue is NW9 5YH and the address for Plot 9a is at the junction of Bristol Avenue and Grahame Park Way.
